The Travelers To Close Work Comp Claims Department In Orange, California
By Lonce LaMon - June 23, 2009

Travelers Insurance Company has announced that their workers' compensation claims department in Orange, California, will be closed soon, and that entire department will be moved out and integrated in with the workers' comp claims department of Travelers' Diamond Bar, California, office.

John Braddock, the Human Resources Manager, of Travelers' in Diamond Bar and Orange, stated, "68 people in the Orange location will be affected.  There will be some job losses, but not many at the claims professional level."

There is no exact number calculated at this time of how many jobs in workers' comp claims from Orange will be lost.  The entire department will be moved to Diamond Bar, and that will cause some duplication of positions.  But no exact number of how many of those duplications will result in job losses has been announced as of this time.

Travelers has scheduled to sit down with each individual affected by the department move out of Orange to Diamond Bar by July 1st.  Thus, the number of jobs to be eliminated is predicted to be known on July 1st.

"By July 1st," Braddock continued, "We will have everything approved.  Sometime between July 1st and the end of August is when people will start moving."

All other departments currently in the Travelers' Orange office will remain and be unaffected.  That includes but is not limited to the liability claims department, the construction defect claims department and the marketing department.
