Egg On His Face Rather Than On The Spoon By Pauline Grant - March 27, 2008
A Connecticut correction officer, who last year claimed he was too injured to work and was collecting workers' compensation benefits, was seen on a TV News Report taking place in a radio station's contest where he had to run a 40 yard dash wearing women's clothing-- including high heels--all while he was collecting work comp benefits.
Prosecutors saw a video showing Garrett A. Dalton running dressed in drag and carrying an egg on a spoon in the contest after someone saw the TV News Report and alerted authorities. The contest was a competition to win Hannah Montana concert tickets.
Prosecutors say that the 41-year-old Dalton collected more than $5,000 in temporary disability after he reported a work-related injury in June of 2007.
Dalton has been charged with workers' compensation fraud.
