Forensic Expert Witness Association
By Barry Zalma, Esq. - May 5, 2006

Ms. Joey Tamer, spoke at the last meeting of the Forensic Expert Witness Association, Los Angeles Chapter and explained, in detail, the hidden secrets to successful consulting are-Excellence, Diligence and Integrity.

She advised the experts, that the hidden killers of consulting companies and expert witnesses are-Doubt, Debt and Bad Clients.

Ms. Tamer provided those attending with a tip from her own practice, all consultants and experts should consider-every year, at the end of the year, go through your calendar from January 1st and remember what happened each week, each month.

You’ll find that client that you fired; the prospect you spent too much time on and who never signed; that completely unexpected gig from a referral source you never considered.  And how long it took to finish a contract that should have been simple.  And in the course of all this, pay attention – why did things happen this way?

What did you learn about referrals, about high maintenance clients, about the true finish date of a project.  Every year you will learn at least one new thing.  Write it down.  Remember it.

The next meeting of FEWA, Los Angeles Chapter, is on May 18, 2006 that deals with a subject dear to every expert witness and every lawyer who needs an expert witness: "Cross Examination" with Guy C. Nicholson, Esq. The meeting will start at 6:00 PM on May 18, 2006 at Il Fornaio, 24 W. Union Street, Pasadena, CA.

Reservations are required. Please contact FEWA's Executive Director, Norma Fox at 888-322-3231 (toll) 949-640-9903 (phone) 949-640-9911 (fax) or you may email her at info@forensic.org.

This article along with its information on FEWA's next meeting was provided by Barry Zalma:
